Our Home Last Christmas 2016

Super late post and thought of sharing these decor photos of our home last Christmas. All decors were DIY and hope you enjoy and get inspired. Having a lovely, simple home doesn’t really have to be expensive! Using twigs, cheap paper and your imagination can do the trick.

Happy New Year, readers! I just wanna share you some snaps of how my home looked last Christmas. Last December was really a busy month for me and these are the only DIY decors I came up to. Happy 2016 to all!

Fruits On Our Table

I grew up eating fruits at home. My Papa and Mama made sure we have fruits day in and day out. It was normal back then for me and my siblings to be eating guava at 10 in the evening! We used to eat cocoa fruit picked from our backyard. I even go to see movies with a kilo of rambutan and lanzones as snacks. Ask hubby, he knows but thinks I'm weird. LOL

I planted two rambutan fruit trees in front and back of our yard last weekend but I guess I still have to wait for another five years to enjoy on its fruits! I love seeing fruits in the market. I love pictures of fruits! I am a proud fruit lover!

And so sharing you snapshots of fruits on my table.

My Home: Interior Details Part 3

So I've been updating the look of my simple home and moving things here and there. Below are the amazing results! It's always lovely going home and I thank my hubby he doesn't give a damn when things are all white around the house! LOL

Luke 2:11 - Christ Is Born

Below was my Saturday night's status on Instragram.

"So I can't sleep and super stoked to start my Christmas decor projects! Creativity adrenalin is so on but can't do as family time starts early for Freedom tomorrow. So goodnight everyone. Ilonggamommy signing off! Thank you, Lord, for today."

And so on Sunday morning, our chalkboard behind our coaster cabinet was like this. It may remain that way until I get the time to create another Christmas doddle!

My Home: Interior Details Part 2

We've been living in our new home for almost three months and things are more in their right places.  Ahhhh...How I wished I could invest in a very nice camera to take gorgeous photos of my home. I've been addicted to taking interior and decor photos lately. But I think I'm still okay with what I have now and want to share with you more of my home's decor details. Enjoy!

 Our outdoor space. I plan to have breakfast or brunch meals here soon. I've been meaning to create my own summer themed table setting!

My mom gave me this hexagon chair that I made as a nesting table in the living room. I got 5 of these together with the hexagon table in our outdoor area.

I am so in love with this tamtam stool.

I like to mix things up from time to time, moving things around the house. This eternity plant does wonders in my home. They look so fresh and clean and so easy to maintain! This gorgeous zebra wall decal is from ebay.

My Home: Interior Details Part 1

I strongly believe a nice home plays a vital part on how we go about our lives and how we feel about the future. Our home is the place where we take refuge, rest, make good food and happy memories with our loved ones every single day. So it is just suiting that no matter how small or big your space is, you take effort to make it functional as well as nice.

My hobby has always been how to make my place look clean and nice. I guess it is safe to say I am a self-made interior designer who loves to do DIY interiors because I am always on a budget. I love everything dainty and pretty.

Building a nice home is not a one-time journey. It's not like you sit down, think what design or look you want and it's done! In my own experience, creating a nice home is a long journey that will reflect you and your family's personalities. Each item that makes up your space should also serve purpose and function to your family's needs.

Since having our own house, I've been glued to everything Scandinavian! Grey, black and white with occasional pop of color. I love how clean and functional Scandinavian designs are. And so without further fuss,  let me take you to a home tour of our current home highlighting interior details which are Scandinavian inspired. Enjoy!

 

We've Finally Moved In!

I'm so excited to share that we've finally moved into our own house! The move-in preparation part was quite a stressful but if it's your own house, everything is worth it.

Since my laptop went on blank screen due to accidental loosen plug last holiday, I wasn't able to blog about my house interiors while on Christmas vacation.

Now, I wanna share a very early peek to our small, humble abode. I wanted to get some helpful tips on moving into new houses so I read a lot of house blogs at first. One thing I learned is that you start with big furnitures.

I so wanted a barn table ever since the world began! I love how it gives a homey touch. I had this wooden table's height costumized so Freedom can properly use our dining table while eating. The white chairs were ordered from a supplier. The design is named Tulip.

 

Since we have a small space, we opted to have this elegant faux leather sofa that can be turned into a double sized bed ordered from a furniture supplier in Marikina www.classicmoderninterior.com. We carefully decided for this faux leather sofa because having a toddler in the house, a lot can be spat, spilt, thrown on the couch. Gray throws and throw pillow cases are from Landmark.

We opted for a Japanese style bed for now since my son moves a lot when sleeping. I am so happy about our queen sized bed from Uratex. Got the white bed sheets and comforter from Akemi brand, gray throw pillow from H&M, gray throw blanket and a replica stool by Henry Massonnet from Landmark, graphic curtains are from ARQ.

Freedom's love of the outdoors is heightened in our new home. He plays with the remaining sand in our garden morning noon and afternoon!

Our outside kitchen is a work in progress. The space is just enough for us for now but we still plan to expand on the side, build a second floor to have more space. I'm also uber excited about our garden area!

We are just starting really small and we are happy about it.  I am so looking forward to work on DIY and personal touches to other corners of our lovely home so stay tuned!
